After reading the mgtf owners manual..............page 11....l i read about engine immobizer overide.......It mentions how you can overide the immobilizer by a sequence of turning the key left and right...........The number of turns is determined by a special 4 digit code obviosly passed on to first owner when the car was new..................very handy if your key fob has just refused to work.........My question on this subject is if or how can you obtain this code?..............or is it unobtainable since the closure of rover?

You can obtain the EKA code from MG Rover codes, they need the Vin and reg. cost you £20, if someone has a T4 Testbook they can get it from this.
EKA is Emergency Key Access, its a four digit code and is entered by the door lock externally, all as described in post reply put up by Leigh Ping

You can also reprogramme the code using T4 or T300. This means you can change it to a more memorable number like your Birthday or similar. :yesnod:

My 1996 F was one of the cars with the incorrect numbers!! MGR Codes gave me 9216 and Russell (with the T4) gave me the correct number as 9317 !!!! which was embedded in the ECU - Apparently MG Rover entered the wrong numbers in their database and in a tremendous number of cases the second and fourth digit needed a 1 added to it.
when you get your code, do a test to see if it works!
