That bears an uncanny resemblance to Welsh Gorsedd circles, used to mark Eisteddfod locations. Are they druid associated by any chance?

This is the Gorsedd circle in Fishguard, 'planted' in 1936

and this one is in Bute Park, Cardiff, 1978 I think

Neither of them megalithic therefore but presumably based on the real thing.

We have examples of cromlechs and dolmens in our local vicinity, this one is probably the best example at Pentre Ifan (Evan's Village), North Pembrokeshire

Will have to have a think about how to get the MG near for a photo op :-?

Is that where you got your inspiration for the stone in Ewan's Castle?

Seems quite similar to the description of the carvings if my memory serves me right - which it probably doesn't!!!

Indeed, it is chaps!

Long Meg and her daughters reside near the village of Little Salkeld in the Eden valley in Cumbria. It is about 5 miles south of my home and is a big circle, unusual in that you can drive right through the middle. it's the second biggest megalithic circle in the country. long Meg, by tradition, is a Witch who was dancing with her many daughters on the Sabbath and was turned to stone. There are 69 stones and Long Meg is 12 feet high.
