That's terrible. Not much ever survives against a big tree like that. I lost a friend who fell asleep on a night time delivery run in much the same way. :nonod:

That's one nasty looking accident .

Least the air bag deployed I've seen worse wrecks where they haven't even gone off , I know it's irrelevant because it was a fatality just making an observation.

R.i.p and my condolences to the family'

Trouble is if you hit an immovable object like a tree at over 40/50 mph then it could be fatal. :yesnod:
Here in the Forest of Dean, there have been numerous casualties of people losing it & hitting trees, with fatal results.
Mostly young inexperienced drivers who go to fast into a bend & lose control.
Always a sad story.

Big trees are very unforgiving and immovable. Even a brick wall has some give in it. Very unsettling images.

Tragic. I see that the police haven't yet decided on the cause of the accident. Head-on collisions are the worst. After my MG crash (Easter 1976.....) the rear end of the Midget almost looked as bad as the front end of the F. The difference was we'd gone sideways down the road, hit a Fiat 127 (remember them?) with our driver's rear end, spun through 180 degrees then gone backwards through a stone wall (appropriately finto a cemetery). The doors burst open mainly because the rear wings moved backwards about 6 inches. The Fiat had a crease in the roof (but then it was a Fiat). We all walked away from it although I had some massive seat belt bruises some hours later. Ever since then I've been nervous about driving at Easter (and I was actually the passenger in the Midget crash which was caused by a sunken man hole cover on a bend, a driver who had never driven rear wheel drive before and a bad case of PIOs). So this is the 39th anniversary of my MG crash and the driver & I hope to celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary next year. I feel sorry for the 44 year old driver of the F and any of his kin.
