Central locking. Mgtf 1.64 54plate
Hi guy's.
The button on fob is pressed and the drivers door locked and the hazard light flash as they do when unlocking. BUT, the passenger door fails to lock or unlock, but it sounds as if it's trying to do something as there is like a gun cocking noise and clicking twice. Have to lock passengers door with key or for inside
Thanks in advance
Ady :hgf:

Hi Ady, again. :welcome2:
1.6 versions don't have central locking. It can be added.

Right. Maybe added afterwards.
It has got to be a motor failure on the passenger side or a problem with the bar links then. There's a bar that goes from the motor assembly up to the lock cylinder, maybe that has come adrift. They are held on with plastic clips.
You'll need to take off the door card to see what is happening when you press the remote button.:yesnod:

Sounds like a sticky motor or mechanisum.
I'd start by spraying WD40 into the latch.

If it's making the gun noise personally I'd swap it now before it jams superlocked! (DO NOT DOUBLE PRESS THE BUTTON TO SUPERLOCK YOUR CAR TILL IT'S SORTED!!)
Have you got a key hole on the passenger side? If so this can be swapped over to any TF passenger lock and stil work with a bit of internal component swapping... I did it on mine and this hopefully means if it does superlock you can stil get it open!
