Hello alas as soon as one problem is fixed another arises
My question is this do I need to replace or will a good blast of WD40 sort out this noisy culprit
It's not doing it all the time I am just worried the lock will give up the ghost and I will be stuck with a locked door that's a pig to get open !
Cheers

Just ensure you get a central locking type mechanism. ie It's not from a 1.6. They look outwardly similar.

Well I don't think it's the door lock just swapped over two from scrap opening and closing fine but making machine gun noise now and then just noticed lights not blinking again when locking wiggled boot loom and its working again could it be the boot loom making the lock do this

The boot loom is responsible for all kinds of electrical weirdness!

checked all joins in the loom as it was repaired before one or two soldered joints looked a bit dodgy so re soldered and working once again.
I think I am going to hack some wiring loom from scrap yard and splice a join further up if this happens again :nonod: :nonod: :nonod: :nonod: :nonod:
