Hello all my exhaust has started rattling.
I got underneath this afternoon and it seems to be the down pipe, it looks intact although the outer braided part has all but burnt off and gone.
When pressing up the rattle stops so do you guys and gals think it's stuffed and I need a new down pipe or do you think a nice poly exhaust hanger will fix the problem as in my mind the rubber is old and perished.
And sagging down a bit causing the pipe to rattle any advice on the matter would be great.
Also if I get a stainless steel one will it eventually burn and brake the same as a normal one cheers

It might be cured by a new hanger but inside the braided outer is a corrugated inner pipe, if this is blowing you'll be better off replacing the downpipe.
If the braided outer is just rattling you can use jubilee clips to tighten it up.
