ive been living in my property for about 12 years or more.........the water draining off my roof to the rear of the property runs down the drain pipe into the drains........the water to one side of the house into 2 water buts........the water on the front of the house runs into a soakaway.......a large hole in the ground filled with hardcore............ive been charged all these years for my rain water off my roof entering main drains by severn trent..........ive recently heard broken conversation on radio 2........i add broken conversation due to work noise not being able to hear the full coversation about how your rates are reduced if your drainage goes into soakaways and you can have a cash rebate for backdated payments.............in otherwords ive been putting money down the drain.........can anyone add any info to this subject :P

You are quite right.
If all your surface water goes to soakaway, you should receive a discount.

I used to work for a water company and confirm this is right.

I've gone one better I also have a septic tank.My surface water goes to soakaway. I pay no sewerage charges at all.

My eyes were wide open when i came into mg ownership, but i may have reached a stage in my life where i own a pair of glasses......i have not yet realised that im pouring money down the drain on the mg.....i concentrate on other pocket robbers.....like petrol for the lawn mower, water down the drain and christmas, council tax and the like........after going bald some years ago i was being ripped off by the barbers by £5.00 or more for removing stamp size clumps of hair from around the sides of my head......after purchacing some hair clippers and saving a trip to the barbers and saving money....combined with packing in smoking to afford running a third car......i concider the mg free of charge,a bonus, pleasure, freedom, but ok one day i may wake up and say the tf was a ruddy pain in the ass.........but at the moment i live in my cloud and the mg does no wrong.....but her indoors tuts a bit more these days for spending money on the mg ......so it may be coming closer to the day she has to go........the mrs i mean............

originally i bought the tf for the mrs......she drove it once and moaned of the clutch feeling to stiff......i said it was ok and its been solely all mine ever since.......we are talking about a woman here who goes out buying new handbags and shoes, and in the short time of travelling home, she has changed her mind. :nonod: :nonod: :nonod: :nonod: :nonod: :nonod: :nonod: :nonod: :nonod:

My grandmother was the last of the big spenders, she had so many fine porcelain ornaments there wasn't enough room to display them, so most would be in cupboards rarely seeing the light of day.
When she took you shopping, she'd buy you everything you looked at in the toy shop.
She decided that the house needed re-carpeting, so she trundled off and bought the finest pure wool carpet she could find, no sooner than the carpet-layers had finished she decided that she didn't like the pattern and made them rip it up and went out and bought another!

i think that when a woman buys something it is pherapeutic to them........they can browse at clothes for hours...........standing behind my mrs in a shop is like pretending to be a shop dummy.........people spot my boredom and single me out........what i mean is i must look like a shoplifter has im looking dodgy.......i often go outside and stand in the fresh pouring rain to escape.......once home she pulls her face and moans something does not fit................did you try it on........no is the reply its your fault for running off................money down the drain.... :bat:
