I bought a non genuine battery for a small Dell notebook type laptop I have. The only issue was that the computer kept telling me it didn't recognise the battery and wouldn't charge it if the computer was in use. It charged fine when the machine was off though, and would run on AC without issue.
So just a note of caution that there may be some electronic tag on a genuine battery. No idea if Toshiba have a similar system to Dell.
