Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a grease gun that won't break the bank please? Most of the ones I'm looking at seem to get wildly varying reviews :bang:

It looks like a trigger type is the way forwards, and from what I can see the bigger ones have way cheaper cartridges. I was looking at he the Clarke CGG120 - anyone use one? If not what do you guys use?

Cheers

Grease guns are somewhat a thing of the past as all modern cars have pre-greased sealed for life bearings, bushes and ball joints. I have a Wanner grease gun which is probably as old as I am and will obviously outlast me.

I think they are all made in China these days like the Clarke gun you mention, a pump leaver action with a flexible hose is the way to go, some you have to open and manual fill others take grease cartridges and some do both.

The one in the link below from Flea Bay will be the same low Chinese quality as the Clarke gun but comes with a grease cartridge which will probably last the life of your car; either will do the job no problem.

I thought my grease gun days were long gone until I discovered (courtesy of The T-Bar) that the TF has two grease points on the front suspension. I suspect that lack of grease could be responsible for a nearside creak going over low bumps, so have been looking for a low cost grease gun but, so far, have shied away from Ebay. If anyone has tried the one suggested, it would be good to know.
