Unless your car has had the subframe mounts done, I doubt that there will not be many pre 2005 TF's that will not require this doing! Its also surprising how many MOT testers fail to pick up on these. Mine were rotten to bits and it still passed the MOT with no advisories, suffice to say I was shocked when I discovered them! Now changed and jobs a good un!

I've got a set of F ones that I am tempted ot fit as they are solid as arock and will give a little more fleximilty than the solid ones - not sure if that will help the ride or not?

Get the front end safely in the air then look up the back of the bumper and you should see rusty horror going on !!

In the first pic you can see the crash can and bumper brace to the right.

Thanks for that.
Glad you expanded your response, as when I read the first sentence, I thought you were talking about my wife...

Mine are in very good condition on a 2002 car.

I swapped the front ones for stainless earlier in the year, but I was doing the wishbones so I changed them while I was there.

I suspect the car has been sat in a garage a lot in its life.

As a newby to TFs, and knowing that this is a job I'm having to do soon...........can I ask a couple of Qs please..................

1................... Does the bumper have to come off to access these ?
2....................Do you undo the Large center bolt first, then the the 4 small ones, or the other way round ?
3....................(stupid Q!!!!) Are these the rear mounts on the front subframe......or the front mounts on the rear subframe ???
