The amazing thing is ive just been looking at these on ebay and youtube last night.....ive found aps on my phone which will project the display from my smart phone to the windscreen....it appears as mirror image on your phone....theres several aps for this.........the projection film bought cheaply off ebay for a couple of quid......hud glass is what i put in my search and there are a few types to choose.......see my links below....one link is for the projection film to use with smart phone the second is a youtube link.......think its the same as davids but this one requires sound up because its a tutorial without the music................for those who havent obd2......the aps on your smart phone will still project satnav, speedometer and stuff to your windscreen....speedo can be changed from mph to kmh..a simple ap was found for free on my windows phone.....in the ap store i put in car hud.....this found a simple free head up display..no frills....some have to much clutter on screen.....displays time, speed etc.....the screen appears normal on the ap...just tap the screen to get mirror image  . :woowoo:

That was bound to happen.
I like this concept, and I think that it's likely to be integrated into car dashboards at some point soon.

I've had my FT heads-up for AGES, well since July, £8.79 with lots of exciting stickers in the box.
Only problem it fries your phone on the dash so bought laptop fans to install under the phone and in the plastic casing.
Couldn't work out how to power those without drilling a hole in the dash - it might take me another 6 months to reconcile to that -
must get it out of the box sometime - to give it a proper trial.
I did buy Sygic on offer with heads-up, looks like it might work pretty well...
