Seem like a lot of people will be drilling those broken brake disc retaining screws out for there next mot...checking out the new mot rules and it says mot testers must insure the brake disc is properly secured to the disc.

Hi, just popped in for a nosey...

This would surely mean the tester removing each wheel. As a world class pedant I'd say that so long as the lug nuts are tight then the disc is securely attached to the hub.....

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

This, and during an mot a tester is not allowed to carry out any work to a vehicle or start removing things, just inspect with the relevant tools.

Best of luck with Hesketh . I chatted to the tester about the new regs and I know that this is open to discussion, he gave me the opinion that the new regs will affect newer cars and diesel emissions ( cars with DPF) . If you take a car for test with a blindingly obvious reason for failure then you shouldn't be surprised. I know emissions are the thing that we all fear as testing prior to the test is the only way to see if things are out of kilter.
