After a meet n greet at the Bassetts Pole Maccy D's we all roofed down to Middleton Hall.
My first time here, and for a cool overcast day in April, I was pleasantly surprised by the amount and quality of the cars there...
Here are a few of my faves....
First up, an immaculate TR6, one of the best I have ever seen
Continuing the Triumph theme, a Stag, again in immaculate order...
This VW Beetle nicknamed "Furbie" just had to be posted up for sheer originality.. it even had a massive key coming out of the boot!
This Porche 550 Spyder was immortalised by James Dean as his last ride, not sure if this was an original, as they are worth an insane amount and never got to ask the owner, so I suspect its a repro, but apologies if its not...anyway, it looked every bit a film star car!
This strange little Renault badged three wheeler is a mystery to me, not seen anything like it before!
Yours truly's TF parked alongside the immaculate Gold TF 160 belonging to Gary Price, a real nice bloke and even nicer car...its one of only two in that colour and interior trim option...and looked like it had just come of the production line.
A bit of a view of part of the hall and its moat...the cars were not the only thing on show today!
I am a MG club member and see many Roadsters on my travels, but none as fine as this white MGB Roadster, it was just outstanding!
AS was this MGA Coupe, not that many of these about and again, top marks to the owner for keeping this example in tip top nick!
As a ZT owner, a V8 version always gets the juiced flowing, I just want this one, its in the same colour as my TF
These two Lotus Europas were also a welcome sight, I did not realise how low they were, and after talking to the owner of the yellow one, found out that there are only 20 of these left!
Everyone loves a Mustang, this was one of two here today,
And here is the other...Also immaculate!
Still with the Fords, this yellow Capri 1600 was another of the shows draw dribblinglylicious cars...
And a Ford Grenada a Mk5 if I recall...
And finally a 1979 Ford Escort Mk2 Harrier, remember the tennis racket headrests?
I challenge anyone to find a better example of an Austin Allegro...in fact I challenge anyone to find one at all!
An Austin 7 (I think) or one of the varieties of them...
This Rover P5B must have been the British muscle car of its day...again not car you see very often..
There were well over 100 vehicles on display, and it seems Middleton Hall has events like this every month, in the words of Arnie himself - "I'll Be Back"!

I hope that wasn't Deans car, it was totally mullered, the crumbled chassis was bent like a banana.
I guess the Renault trike was a kit build.
Home to black Alfa Romeo 159 3.2 V6 Q4 ,green MGF VVC and red MG Maestro T16.

And the 2 door mach 2 would split on the rear pillars due to body twist 4 doors had a stronger rear pillar
Drove a escort with a leaking rad ...when I arrived at my desternation I could hear the water system banging around shouting I'm empty......drove it back home and it still lived after a refill.....no chance with modern watercooled engines. ...low water alarms....didn't need them...that thumping rumbling sound with steam venting out the grille meant stop when convenient....the smell of underseal made you high has a kite...that's why a lot were written off.

DRK was based in Cheshire, 59 kits were sold between 1987 and 1998.

In the 80’s I had a few early escorts, including mk 1 and Mk2 RS’s and Mexico’s, I could cry when I see the money they change hands for. Apart from the RS 1800, the one I had a soft spot for was a 1100 pop that was an ex panda car. Used it to go to the south of France an a fruit picking trip in 89 lol . It had stellar miles on the clock and never missed a beat, even when I did the 1000mile journey home in 2 days. I’d resprayed it black and fitted an Xsport wide body kit lol.

I had Fords, and Vauxhalls in the 70,s and 80,s and I swear you could hear the rust worm munching them at night.
I particularly remember the floor pans rotting beneath the pedals, and the door skins separating due to rust as the weep holes got bunged up and the doors filled with water.
