LE500 mirror wiring info needed
Hi all. I have a 2004 TF and recently purchased a new rear view mirror as the existing one’s glass is losing its mirrored backing. It is the one fitted to later Chinese built TFs with the leds. The current mirror has three wires - purple, earth yellow/green and black. The new one is a different connector block with five wires - the three mentioned plus additional red and white. From reading this thread of a few years ago, it sounds like these wires are for a parking aid buzzer. My question if anyone can help, is if I just use the three wires to match those of the original and leave the the red and black wires out, will the lights work on the mirror normally?

Hi, did you get an answer on the rear view mirror conversation from 3 pin to 5?
I have similar issue and need to do the same connection conversion.

If you go back some eight years & seven months in this esteemed organ a post by "fatbaldingoldgit" ref #148738 should answer your question.

You used to get a cream for it until a component chemical was found to make an obscure spider blind in one of its eight eyes. Mind you it’s been a while since I looked for it (age related).
