MG TF GEAR CHANGE
Hi, my MG TF 2002 gear change is a little stiff and sometimes it’s a little difficult to find gears. I don’t mean to over egg this as all gears are selectable and the car is a joy to drive, however if there was an easy fix I would be glad to hear it.

Remove the gear surround and gaiter, to check and lubricate the change mechs.
check the rear gear change mechanism at the bellhousing. The Rose joints do wear.
You can also adjust the cable lengths by screwing in the end joints.
Often the reverse cable needs shortening to help selection... Disconnect the Rose joint and screw in in 1 turn. There is a locking nut that you need to unloosen first.
