Cool Wall - Renault Wind Roadster
Renault has given the following reason behind the naming of the convertible. They wanted it to be an international name. Apparently being 'in the wind' (or 'dans le vent') in France means you are trendy, but Renault reckons international buyers wouldn't take to a car called the 'Vent'.
Renault has slashed the price of the Wind roadster by more than £2000 a year after launch. Prices now start at £12,995 but is it enough to make you call it a cool car?

All the cars are now in the new Cool Wall section in the T-Bar :broon:

Posted 12 years 8 months ago #41844Here is a link to another Renault roadster which with the Wind IMHo makes one of each.

Which one do you think represents a love of sports cars and which one is designed to shift some more metal based on an everyday parts bin?

redbeard57 wrote: Sorry, I disagree....saw it at the motor show in Geneva 2 years ago and thought that is was quite interesting. ....... Anyway, it wont be around much longer, Renault have dropped it from the range I understand.
I think seeing a car, particularly, at a motor show (or even in a showroom come to that) is a very different experience to seeing it out on the road. The Wind on the road looked awkward, very disjointed and not a pretty sight.
I think for these reasons, as you say, Renault are pulling the plug on the unloved Wind, which has been on sale in the UK for less than two years. I doubt any tears will be shed, apart from the owners of a Wind, which will probably devalue faster than last years laptop.

I saw a couple of them while away in whitby a few weeks ago, just didn't look right at all.
Mind you, every car had a colour that suits it and makes it look at least better. I guess I have not seen that car in that colour yet.
