I think, in general, videos are a good way of attracting new members. Specifically, I think a video showing a group of cars on a run would be a better advert for the forum.
This video, although looking and sounding great, could be any car not specifically an MGTF. The fact that I, and I suspect a lot of members, know who this is and what car, doesn't apply to a newbie.
A good video with lots of MGFs and TFs highlight what the forum is about.
Maybe a compilation of different video runs would work better!

not cool and certainly not the sort of video to try to entice new members out on runs and meets, the driving on those occasions is far more sedate and more about enjoying the views and scenery rather than a solitary driver out for a blast.......

as David suggests why not make a compilation of lots of cars on a run and videos of people standing around having a good laugh with photos of pub meals etc...... show the fun social side MGing!!!

My thoughts, its a bit too long it should be about 1/2 to 2/3's that length. I agree with the idea of a compilation of runs and noggin & natters/meets/displays and I would suggest that any spirited driving in the video should be restricted to the track.

Cheers

Oh you guys are so hard to please. It is on a track Craig. :yesnod: It's on the border patrol test pilot track in Northumbriashire or Cumberland or whatever the northerners call it.

A compilation vid.. Oki doki, I'll get right on it. :yesnod:

PS. Does anybody else have a video I can steal for use. I know Craig does. ;)

I know. I'm subscribed to you all. :)

To be fair, they're all great and 'made to be watched'. I've a T-Bar link in all my vids and I monitor the piwik admin panel daily. They've brought us 1000's of visitors over the past two years to my knowledge. So, the more the merrier. Cheers to all for the inspiration. :broon:

Sorry Leigh, I stand corrected, it was the cars coming the other way that confused me. Feel free to use any of my videos should you want them. If you want any the raw footage let me know.

You weren't confused Craig, Hartside is a public highway...you can google it, it's the A686 between Melmerby and Alston and often hailed as one of the best driving roads in the country. On-board cameras often make drives appear faster than they are, and given the tightness of the bends and the fact that the speed limit there is 60mph, I doubt that any laws were broken, although I agree, it does look spirited!!! :)

I agree with previous posts though....a mix of multi-car runs, fix-it days and meets would be a far better insight into the T-Bar activities
