How rare is the powered folding soft top on the f/tf?

A rare as rocking horse shit!
Your chances of ever even seeing one are remote...........let alone finding one.
Of all the years I've been a member here, I can only recall one member that had one.
Never seen one myself, but from what I gather, they pretty well take up quite a bit of space in what is already a bloody small car.

A bit pointless too. The soft tops on these cars are so quick and easy that it would just be annoying to wait for an electro hydraulic system to whir away when its about to piss with rain. Much quicker just to turn round in your seat, pull the thing forward and then do up the clips at the top of the screen (which part youd still have to do on an electric roof). Letting it down of course is even easier.

And another thing.......... if the tonneau cover is fitted over the folded roof, then you'd still have to stop and get out of the car to remove it........kinda sucks all the joy and convenience outta being able to "just" press the roof button dunnit!

Dad had a Jensen Interceptor DHC, a beautiful car in lemon yellow / black trim with chrome wire wheels and a bloody great 440 cubic inch ( @7.4 litre) Chrysler V8 with "6 pack" triple 2 bbl carbs, The idea of these were that at idle and low speed tootling about, it would only use the centre carb, inorder to use less fuel, but when you gave it a kick in the guts, the two outta carbs would come into play giving you shit loads of power on demand....it went like shit off a shovel!

I used to drive it about a lot back when I was about 18 - 19. I loved that car!

And of course it had all mod cons, including a powered roof.......but it looked hellishly ugly with the top down and the tonneau not fitted, so in order to maintain the asthetic beauty of the car you needed to manually fit and remove the tonneau cover. kind of defeating the purpose of the convenience of having a powered soft top. And you couldn't drive it without the tonneau fitted at any great speed as the roof would start to flap about and try and lift as the wind caught it.
Jensen would've been better to ditch the rear seats in order to allow the roof to be able to fold down flatter and be able to hide under a flush fitting metal cover that would of course be powered to operate as part of the powered roof function.

I did have some faded pix of the Jensen somewhere but buggered If I can find 'em!
