Considering the amount of work I did on Slave 1 I can't believe I'm asking this but how on earth do you remove a car stereo? :o :sofa:

Usually, you can remove a plastic surround to reveal the frame. Each type of stereo have their own pair of keys that have to be slipped down either side of the stereo to release it from the frame.

However you can often use two fine screwdrivers instead of the special keys.

Kara,
david is correct of course -but if you have the original version it can be a devil to remove due to corosion of the ally case to the frame . I had to resort to removing the top grills and working from above and with a set of keys from halfruad s
hope this helps

You could always park it up in London and leave it for a while.

Seriously though, as said, it depends on the model. Halfords sell various tools for each model, or if you know how it is secured then you can normally do it will some small screwdrivers or feler gauges which you need to push down the sides to release the hidden clips.

Thanks guys! The cd player that's coming out is not really important so it'll probably get Frank's special screwdriver or whatever's in the boot that looks like it might do the job treatment!
