Hypothetical Hi-Fi question.

Hypothetical Hi-Fi question. was created by thatone1967

Really loving the car at the mo, and inspired to do stuff to it...
Would love to upgrade the hifi, and got to thinking.
I want more power, and am thinking of trying to put a bass speaker behind the armrest, and a four channel amp with the two rears bridged to drive the sub.
Question is, without major surgery to the car, what sort of sub could I realisticly fit, and is my idea feasible?

2003 MGTF Monogram Edition. Celestial Blue, Black Leather.No. 19 of 99 Built 11 Spoke Alloys. AP brakes.

You should go for an amp in the bit above the arm rest, a sub in the footwell, upgraded front speakers and upgrade the tweeters and move them up to the side of the windscreen, thats what i'll be going for :)

If you remove the OEM sound proofing behind the passenger seat and replace with a couple of layers of dynamat you will buy yourself at least an inch; now as long as you don't mind loosing the final click or 2 back of the passenger seat there is room to make a fiberglass box that will house a 10" shallow mount sub (such as the ones by Rockford Fostgate). I have bought 2 from the USA, one for each seat however I'll be doing the passenger seat side first so I can line my drivers seat up with it to ensure I can still drive comfortably.

In all honesty, it's going to be a couple of months as I need to get the carPC finished first however it may mean I have a spare 10" 2ohm Rockford for sale in the nearish future.
