What's the hood made from?

Simple question but I can't seem to find the answer.

I bought a Renovo restoration kit but they only seem to do them for canvas hoods. Is the MG hood a canvas one?

It's called Mohair, But it is a type of canvas.

Yep defo use the canvas one on the MG hood.

Renovo products are very good, their kit is far better than the one Autoglym sell, which is why its more expensive ~ one of our members (Epsom Area MGOC) did a very faded and green mouldy hood on his 1998 MGF, followed the instructions to the letter and the hood now looks like new. follow the instructions and be amazed by the results. As david has said Mohair is a type of canvas, it is a high quality (and the most expensive) material for car hoods and is used on BMWs, Mercedes, and MGs of course.

mine is canvas but i dont think you should use Renovo on your roof mate... it might mark the paint work
