Selling Slave... again!

I've set my sights on a TF & I've even picked the model and colour so I guess that gives me something to look forward to!

Oh & does anyone know about buying cars at a car auction as I figure that's the best way to get a CHEAP run around?

Kara, that is a great pity as it is such a lovely car, but bricks and mortar and a tiled roof are more inportant and you need to "nail" that CCJ. priorities, priorities. why dont you also show a picture of your future TF to give everyone an idea of what you are longing for, you could even give it a countdown timer (like the olimpics) hopefully yours will be before 2012!! Auctions can be a good place to get a bargain, but only if you know what you are doing. Take someone along who knows cars etc otherwise you could end up with someone elses heap. Set yourself a budget and don't get carried away with the bidding. If it goes past your budget then let it go, there will be others.

Alais, you are not thick at all, i may be wrong but i think it will go like this: 1.Sell Slave to highest bidder for say £3k 2. buy a cheapo MG Metro at auction for say £500, pay off CCJ (thats county court judgement and not Clive) and save like hell for a TF - bear in mind that the mortgage is a first priority, i would add a bit to the mortgage for a car too.

Kara, excellent advice from Clive about the auctions. someone who can spot a tosser and dont go over budget, you can pick up some bargians if YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR. ther are always others.:confused:

Have to be honest though can't remember the last time I've stopped in on .org ...must have been a good 4 months ago...I have so little time as it is that I devote it all to trying to improve the t bar rather than reading crap on the MG world's official playground.

Spot on Bryan, I was thinking maybe an old ford or fiat though... simply because there's so many of them around that they seem to be cheap as chips. I daresay adding a couple of grand to the mortgage for a TF wouldn't hurt! :lol:

Lol thanks hun, well I'm taking a trader friend of mine with me who does a fair amount of buying at auction so hopefully he'll help me grab a bargain!
