TF front bumper was created by a Guest

I recently replaced the front wheel arch liners and had to flex the front bumper wheel arch edges to meet the clips on the liners. The bumper has now jumped the fastenings under the headlights on both sides. Its still secure but frankly looks awful. I can refix no problem but any ideas on how to stop it happening again?

Cheers

If it was me, I would refit the bumper so it sits correctly, then 'adjust' the holes in the arch liners to fit the bumper.

Problem is that there was a gap, not an overlap about 1" between the liner and the bumper so pulled the bumper in to meet it, but as a result it looks like the flexing is pushing the bumper out of the headlight clips.

Ah - you have an F with TF front? Meg's was the same but the flex was fine and has stayed there no problems. You don't have a fixing missing or somethign do you as Meg's didn't pop out at all when I flexed her in the 1".

Would this problem be solved by obtaining TF arch liners?

Car should be a 2002 TF 135, but will check the fixings as the garage had the bumper off a while back to refix the pass fog light that had decided to leave.

Liners were purchased as being TF and seemed to match the ones I took off - is there a quick way of telling the difference?

I don't know, I just assumed that there must be a difference.:dunno: which was why there was this gap problem.

Well, lesson learned - don't always assume its the last thing you did that's wrong.
Just took the bumper off to find a bumper cross member that's too new for the age of the car. Also the pass side bracket was bent so that the bumper didn't sit properly. replacing the liners just caused the twist to show more.
Will put it all back together tomorrow and hopefully everything will line up.

Yep, never pays to assume something. Like me assuming the handbrake was working well!

Well got it back on, not perfect yet but much better. Just need to do some fine tuning when time allows.
