I can confirm that I extracted it from our MGF at the weekend.

Ah Adam,
you're too sharp.
It is indeed, clutch fluid, I'm ashamed to say.:shake:
Changing it was a job I was putting off, because the clutch was still working fine. So it hasn't been changed since we got the car.

It looks like coke:lol: maybe thats what was in the clutch hydraulics!

Disgusting, isn't it?

I had to take out the clutch reservoir to clean out the black stuff completely.
It is a black particulate material in suspension in the clutch fluid, but some had settled out in the reservoir. - Weird!
