I recently did mine too! Cracking stuff!

Although there was a tear in the plastic I protected the car with and it's an absolute git to get off your paintwork.

Not used Renovo but I have the autoglym stuff which is an equal ba****d to get off paintwork.

What I do find as well is the local moggies love to sit on the roof and their hair sticks like the proverbial to a blanket!
Thinking of getting a cover for the roof for when the mg's laid up for a while

Older but certainly not wiser!

Our old house had the cat flap into the garage. On wet days you would get stared at by the local moggie crew from the roof of the B as you opened the garage door. The implication was "how dare you gatecrash our party.
I cleaned and proofed my hood with Autoglym and its done what it said, for the price next time I might use fairy liquid and something from a camping kit shop. The Autoglym would do it another time if I can find it again next year but I will give it to my daughter to do her MR2.

Used Renovo reviver and reproofer earlier this year and found it to be the best yet. Beware of applying reviver in sunlight though! Ended up with a seam line down the middle of the roof. But a 2nd coat of it did the trick on a cloudy but warm day. I managed to avoid any overspill onto the paint work by releasing the roof and layering newspaper all round before clipping the roof back in. 2 sheets thick seemed to work. a full sheet paper works best ie a Daily Telegraph or Gaurdian.

Certainly is a good idea... does it work with the News of the world?

I checked with our tame Chemist from the local MG club. He uses Fabseal (from memory) on his TF. He has this stuff anyway for a trailer awning and its about 1/10th the price of car appliction proofers. However he says for washing Fairy Liquid is too agressive and he uses a fabric cleaner for tents, or a special hood cleaner. The Fairy would remove all existing silicone.
