Posted 14 years 1 month ago #16842Scary bit is going out with the instructors, as they are doing 90 round hairpins wilst turing to look at you chatting away about the car, Its like they are just driving you to the supermarket.

That's what we call normal Mercedes driving. I bet he didn't indicate once either.

Posted 14 years 1 month ago #16852I took my six year old round Silverstone earlier this year and played I spy for two laps, the pit crew thought it was hilarious.Psymon;16842 wrote: Whet to the Mercedes benz world for a work day out a while back, Can recommend that as a great day out, Got to take few AMG 's round the track, Best fun was taking an estate car round the skid pan.

Seriously, I believe a day being shown how to drive the F/TF correctly in all conditions would be very popular.

I'll second that. I was down by Mercedes world for a meeting a couple of weeks ago and someone was having a lot of fun in an AMG SL on the circle of track with sprinklers there.

It was too many years ago to admit, but I did a few sessions on a skidpan... Sooo much fun, but informative too. You don't need a powerful car though. F/TF would prove fun, but once they break into a rear wheel skid, with all that weight at the back it would prove very interesting to correct!
These modern FWD cars take all the fun out of playing... frightening to get one into a front wheel skid!
Older but certainly not wiser!
