Hi Guys,
on Nov 6th i am taking part in an epic 9.5hr race at brands hatch (1000km!).
I am pit crewing for "Project Bumble" (black and yellow S1 Elise).
We are raising money for a new wheel chair for a much deserving little 8yr old boy, and the Muscular Dystrophy charity.
I was wondering if anyone would like to either sponsor me personally (£5 or £10) for the event, or like to put some advertising on the car.
We are selling space on the car at about £750 per 1/4 (this includes the cost of the vinyl wrap), and the Event is being shown on Motors TV.

Linky to the event: http://www.lotrdc.com/calendar/?eID=13

Let me know if anyone wants to sponsor me or the car!

cheers
Oz.

Hi OZ, have you got a Just Giving website? it is easy for people to give you money and will qualify for gift aid if they are UK taxpayers this adds another 25% to the donations, it is very easy to do. my daughter has just done the Royal Parks half marathon and raised £500 for Breast Cancer.

Sadly not. Hope For Joe is not a registered charity. The way we have had to do it, is get personal contributions, bundle them together, then give all of what we raise to Muscular Dystrophy Campaign, who are a registered charity (205395), who have then agreed to give 50% of what we raise for them, back to "Hope For Joe".

Joe is a loverly 8 year old boy who is unlikely to make it to the age of 20 due to the muscular dystrophy he is suffering from.
He needs a new wheelchair which is what prompted this whole team/race. The owner of the car is the Boys father, he cant afford to race any more, and the car isnt worth that much so he is using it as a way of raising money instead.
The 3 drivers have all paid for their drives, the race entry fee was paid for by the event organisers (free entry), and we have been sponsored all our tyres, fuel, brakes, fluids and transport!
I think so far we have raised about £4000 of which i have personally raised £600. Joes wheelchair is likely to cost about £2500, so we need to raise about £5000 to get Joe his wheelchair!

Many thanks for your support.

The gift aid thing is worth doing as it is "free money" for the charity.

I do, if you drop me a message then i will give you the details as its my personal one, just annoying that they take a percentage.
All monies will be passed on to the MDC, and Hope for Joe. :)
