Hub carrier broken, pehaps.

I took the Blue Meanie in for new tyres today and got laser alignment done.
Looks like the nearside rear has had a smack at some point. Turns out it's almost perfectly upright with no camber. They showed me that all the rods and bars look straight so best guesstimate is that the hub carrier is bent.
The guy at the tyre depot said that it's safe and would pass it's MoT but that it will wear the shoulder of the tyre faster and that if I was really giving it some then the back end wouldn't be as planted as it should be on right handers.
Anyone know how big a job changing the hub carrier would be and how much a new hub carrier would cost?

Sorry Andy, I can't help much on this one.
TBH, i would have thought a damaged carrier would give you wheel wobble.:dunno:

I think I need to jack up that corner and see if the wheel is wobbling and then take the wheel off for a closer look.

Also measure up all the components of the suspension and compare them to the other side. It may give you a clue.Andy1970h;17530 wrote: I think I need to jack up that corner and see if the wheel is wobbling and then take the wheel off for a closer look.

If it's just bent it may not wobble.
