I wouldn't use drilled discs on a road car, the constant heating and coolingcauses them to crack between the holes.

You can get any bits you need from from an AP Racing distributor. I got mine from Circuit Supplies in Dunstable (tel: 01525385888). They were really helpful and post out quickly.

Also I was surprised how cheap the bits are, considering the price of a complete caliper):

Pad pins - £1.28 each (you need 2 per caliper)
Anti-rattle spring - £2.57 each (1 per caliper)
Bleed Screw with O-ring - £2.19 each (2 per caliper)
Crossover pipe - £10.70 each (1 per caliper)

Prices DO NOT nclude VAT and delivery but this still equates to a complete refurb, except pistons and seals, for less than £30 per caliper.

My pistons were OK but I an replacing the seals, which are £23.69 a set plus VAT. Eack set includes 4 piston seals, 4 weather seals ans 2 bleed screw covers.

If you don't need to replace the seals but need bleed screw covers, which most second hand sets are missing and stop corrosion at the joint, I have spares that I bought before I realised I needed new seals that cost me about £1.50 each.

Anyway, thought I'd update how mine are going......

Due to corrosion I couldn't get one of the crossover pipes off. Eventually a friend of mine did the job for me by heating it up and using some told I didn't have (he is a mechanic).

So, with all the bits removed I was left with:

This had already been cleaned with Wynn's brake and cluth cleaner, using a wire brush.

I have now put on 2 coats of VHT gloss red caliper paint and they look like this:

Updates to follow when completed ;)

If your going to scrap off the MG logo give the paint a couple of days and it comes off great by just running a flat stanley blade over the raised bits, any sooner an it might pull an make ruff edges a bit
