To those of us in the Winter Wonderland, it's time to make sure the car(and you) are prepared.
Make sure your coolant is of sufficient strength(50%) - I've already read a tale of frozen coolant! 50% antifreeze is good down to -34C.
Make sure your tyres have good tread, or even better change to M&S/Winter tyres.
Keep a good amount of fuel in the tank - if you get stuck in hold- ups you don't want to run out.
Carry warm clothes, boots and a shovel - You may have to dig yourself out or walk home.
If you're going a fair way - take a packed lunch and a thermos of hot coffee or soup.
A mobile phone could be vital.
Don't drive unless the journey is necessary.
And remember, NO ALCOHOL! Despite what you see in films/on tv, drinking alcohol does not warm you up. IN FACT IT DOES THE OPPOSITE, It makes the body cool faster by opening the body's surface blood capillaries to allow more blood to cool at your skin.
For someone who is suffering from hypothermia, alcohol could kill!
Warm drinks/food is the answer.
Shared bodily warmth also helps - so snuggle up together.
Please feel free to add other tips.

What about adding an hardtop to keep the cabin dry and warm? Well, the purists would kill me...

ok, I suppose the hardtop idea hasn't been lucky, so I'd suggest to check that the heater works fine and that it blows warm air...

TBH, if the soft top is in good condition and waterproofed, the cabin should be fine.:yesnod:

For those of us who are follically challenged a nice warm hat is a good idea.
Particularly when driving roof down as I did on the way to work this morning.

That is a really good post. another thing is good quality jump leads (maybe for you or someone else) and a stiff hand brush (buy one dont pinch the one out of the broom cupboard) they are great for brushing off snow.:woohoo:
