Anyone know anything about electric aerials??, the one on my MG Honda Accord was frozen in the snow and i think the elastic band inside has snapped, the motor works as before and cuts off both up and down, the sections pull up and push down but it dont go on its own! Cant find anything on the net about these and not happy to pay £160 for a new one.

The ones I've had to bits had a coil of plastic rod that slid up the inside of the mast. It should be attached to the top section.
Usually the fixing breaks and the mast will rise but not go down, but it sounds as if something has detached at the bottom end of yours if it won't rise.

You could always try Viagra.

replaced one once on a BMW 316, with a unit from Halfords - simple replacement & plug in. Worked fine, went up when i switched the radio on but went back down again every time i opened a window

Cheap replacments are easy (well they were the last time I looked 20 years ago) and not difficult to fit.

I have actually wondered if one could fit one on the F.
