Ok showing my sadness here - got a vintage type horn for Xmas.

The new unit has +ve and earth connections only but the two existing horns have individual feeds and of course are linked to the alarm system. I intended to splice the two feeds to the on +ve on the new horn, but will this affect the alarm in any way?

I don't believe it would affect the alarm. The feeds come from the same relay.

Certainly looked that way from the wiring diagram, but didn't fancy standing in the street with "ooogah" ringing in my ears and not be able to turn it off

Does it say on the new horn what sort of current it draws?

Clive
Nothing but the voltage marked on the packaging or the horn itself.

How did you wire yours?

All done - no probs so far, although the alarm threw a moody initially. Sounds like a crash-diving u-boat when it goes off now!

Just a quick note - on post 1973 vehicles, any horn which does not sound a continuous steady note will fail an MOT . In other words no tunes, no ahhoogah, no nee-ner...
