Last month we had a day with over 1200 guests online!

Most of the guests, apparently are Bots, whatever they might be.:shrug:

Bots are automated browsers, The google Indexer for example, the count goes high because for every page google index's counts as a guests, so if google currently indexing 100 pages that would count as 100 guests, Add yahoo and bing and the guest count goes high.

They are the good bots.

Then there are the bad bots. these are automated systems trying to create user accounts to post spam messages etc. Each one of them counts as a guest as well.

Use a few other sites and the number of guests is between 6 and 11 for three of them right now and on here there are 464?

Could it be to do with .org - ers trying to get a fix while they're down again

I think a lot of those is google sorting out links to our new combined Tbar/pitstop section. We decided to stop having two separate sections as they were tending to overlap subjects anyway. :yesnod:
