My silver F on front cover of Classic Car Mart

Hi all

Just as I had sold it an hour earlier on ebay I find out its front cover...lol






They must have been desparate though two pics of me!!!!....lolol





Down side is it might have sold for a bit more if I had known

MGF vs MX5 !
Notice how the MG has the prominant placing in the photograph whilst the MX5 sits at the back like a mere afterthought

In the original article they got me to drive both cars

and to be honest while the MX5 was lower and had a sport laid back driving position there were several things I wasn't keen on

No power steering so quite heavy at low speed and very light at higher speed

The ride compared to the F is very much harder and shakes the whole car to bits when going over the slightest rough road

Pedal position on the MX5 is also off set from the drivers seating direction which is strange but I suppose you get used to it

In the early MX5 they do seem to be lacking in power compared to the VVC although I'm not sure if a bigger engine version was available

ONE THING KEPT UNDER WRAPS AT THE TIME WAS THE MX5 ONLY JUST MADE IT THERE IT HAD ENGINE PROBLEMS, BOMB PROOF MX5 MY HAIRY BUTT.......lolol

That F had been in a scrap yard 10 days before that shoot and was only MOT'd the day before and Taxed 1 hour before the shoot......it never put a foot wrong

So there's some guy out there that's just bought a car and - OH MY GOD, MY CAR'S IN A MAGAZINE!

No its even worse than that....lol

Its in TWO mags, one he knows about last year and has asked if he can have a copy of the mag

He doesn't realise its front cover this month though

Well it went to the new owner today, an the guy seems ok he's a classic car freak, just sold his early 70's beetle

so now your right might be a purple F or just a VVC engine, the engine thats in is ruff as hell and just to keep it running
