Reverse lights not working

Reverse lights not working was created by Laz1957

I have recently noticed a lack of reverse lights and, flushed with the success of fixing the interior lights issue, decided to have a go.

The fuse and bulbs are all good and I think the problem may be because I have dislodged the connector to the switch when I installed the Pipercross Viper a couple of weeks ago.

I have read loads of posts but I'm having trouble locating the connector in the engine bay. Any help to locate this would be a big help.

Also is it possible to get to the switch through the top or do I need to go underneath (haven't done that yet  )

Thanks.

The connector is usually laying on the top of the gearbox/bell housing towards the front.

You can access/replace the switch from beneath.

I had a failed switch last year, where the plunger had worn and was no lomger depressed enough to make a connection.

I'll try to find some pics.

Can I get to the connector from above, or is going under easier?

That photo in your post is unfamiliar to me - I haven't got that far in yet

BTW where's the rest of the car!

I've put a couple of pointers on the pic.
Switch is easiest from below, connector is only gettable from the top.

This is a pic of Clive's car -amid engine removal.

David, does oil come pouring out when the switch is removed ?? or is it above the oil level?? ~ Alias had the same problem last year with Flopsy (her F) and if you recall we are still waiting for the video of her groveling underneath the car to fix it. so if a girl can do it, well!!!

Dont want to alarm you, BUT, you could have broken the connection or cut the wires when you were DREMMELING away the resonator box into black granules!!!!!!!! please let us know how you get on, for the small cost i would replace the switch whilst you are there. :silly:
