I have been asked by KIMSHROS to post a new thread about Della's window (Kim is far to busy to do it herself!!) the fault is >>>> press the electric window switch and the glass lowers down about half way and stops, press again and it goes down a bit further and again and again to get it all the way down. it goes up all the way in one go.
the passenger side operates correctly up and down.
Could it be the switch?? or is there a relay that controls the "one touch" operation??

It may not be the same but I had a similar fault but in reverse ie went down ok but wouldn't come up in one go and it was fixed by replacing the switch.

Assuming the window is moving freely in the runners, I would suspect the switch as well. Could you swap the switches with Kim to see If the switch is the problem?

What would you reccomend to lubricate the window in the side channel, is there a silicone spray that can be used?? I am wondering now if the window is tight in the runners and the safety stop operates because of resistance. the window always comes half way up then stops, another press of the switch and it goes three quarters of the way up then stops again , another push and it closes. press down and it goes all the way. Up again and it stops half way!!!!!!!

I use whatever I have available in my magic cupboard.
Spray white lithium; dashshine etc. anything that lubricates really!

Thank you, i have got some "slatlube" we used to use it on the stainless steel slats on the milk bottle conveyors, it is waterproof and food safe and lubricates very well. :woohoo:
