Oil Temperature?
The oil gauge on Flopsy has always sat bang in the middle. Is this too hot, and is the gauge actually accurate?
The buyer said that he expected around 90 on slower drives, and up to 120 on the motorway.
What are your thoughts? Do I have a problem that has never bothered me in the 20K or so I have done in her, or are most oil temperatures closer to the middle of the gauge?

1/. yes, i would expect 90 degrees around town and maybe 120 in motorway driving.
2/. The gauges are notoriously inaccurate.
So there's probably absolutely nothing wrong with Flopsy's engine. I would only be concerned if the readings started to get higher unexpectedly.
Some people actually fit a resistor into the circuit to give a lower reading!

As they've always been much the same, I really don't think there is anything wrong with her.
Looks like she will be back on eBay again. Shame there's now only one month of the MOT left as well

If the gauge behaves normally apart from showing higher readings, probably not.(ie Does the reading go up if you give the car a good thrashing?)
You could try a different transducer, it may give lower readings. Or not...
have a read of this .

I think I will leave her as she is, but mention it in the advert and also include a link to this thread.
