What is wrong, I can't figure out........

....... why people buy a convertible and then when the sun shines drive around with hood UP :rant: what's the matter with these people. :nonod:

I take almost any opportunity to drop the hood and don't wait for sunny weather but I've been driving around for days enjoying the good weather and find myself muttering 'put the *********** hood down' at other convertibles.

Am I missing something

Is there some sort of snobbery which says buy the convertible because it's more expensive but don't actually drop the hood because you want to remain aloof and incognito.

I have seen quite a few MG TF's over the last two days and not one had the hood down :blink:

I take the mick out of a lad at work. He has an MX5 and I have NEVER seen the hood down. :nonod:

Ah, I gave up wondering about other people's oddness a long time ago. You could drive yourself crazy worrying about irrelevances otherwise.
I don't mind what they do as long as it doesn't impinge on me and mine. Hood up, hood down, hard top on or off.:shrug:

i suppose its how you take your outlook on life if you worry about what people think, i try to have my hood down when i can but some days i drive with it up but never when the sun is blazing. just drive your car and enjoy life and dont fret over what other people are doing, just chill pdq44

:thumbsup: I'm not worrying unduly, just think it's a bit odd.

I can appreciate that some girls do not want to mess up the hair they've spent half an hour preparing or that you are feeling a bit lazy and can't be bothered for a short journey, but you wouldn't buy a T-shirt for summer and then walk around with your overcoat on or get a nice pair of sunglasses then keep them in your pocket whilst you squint in the sunshine.

Sometimes, I don't drop the top if I'm just going a short way and I will just have to put the top up again. :whistle:

Locally most top down drivers would have been drowned drivers over the last 2 days with the rain we've had locally.

Down here in Oz you can usually spot the guy who has just bought a convertible car.... he is the dude driving in the middle of 35C day with the top down. Melanoma Central!! Here in Queensland the best time of the year to drive top down in anytime but high Summer. Its simply too hot and humid. In fact my hardtop goes on around late November through until March. That is our Summer, and being sub tropical its also our wet season.... Any other time of the year though its top down.

Probably got the other half on board who, on a pavement cracking day, will still have the heated seat on. :nonod:
