Great job Iain

If I'd known you were that god I'd have asked you for a demo on my car last week ;)

I kept dropping hints to Jamie, as he also seems to be keen with the polish, but I thnk the trip across the driveway was a bit far for him :P

You can get the clay bar and detailer in a kit for about 10-15 pounds. The clay will prob last two cleans (twice a year is OK), the detailer longer (this is lube for clay but can also be used for a quick spray and wipe in between)

The wax and polish cost 8.99 each. Can probably get them cheaper

Best to use a different cloth for each polish/wax, one to give first buff for each one and a nice big soft one for final all over buff

There is also a kit which gives you TWO clay bars, one massive polishing cloth, and a small tub of meguiars wax for £25 bucks.

I think its best to add polish to clayed bodywork though to protect it, and then wax to seal it in and protect.

Basically 30 quids worth of stuff will probably last you a few years, depending on how often you do a full clean

Looks really good, well worth the effort of using clay and its not as hard as a proper T Cut (i was shown years ago how to T Cut paintwork properley. it is not worth buying "cheap" waxes as they dont last and dont give and maintain the depth of shine you have obtained on yours. :broon:

I got a meguires clay kit from Halfords for £25, I also got some polish and shampoo as they are doing a 3 for 2 or cleaning chemicals.

The claying process removes the wax so you must polish afterwards if you are to protect the paint.

Also bought maguiars yesterday, the polish and the wax, I already had Autoglyms clay and detailer. Must say I was really impressed with the maguiars polish .... doesn't seem to leave that horrible white gunk in the cracks that other polishes do.
So, it was a lovely morning today so I went to work with the clay, polish and wax. Took two and a half hours and it was well worth it.
MANY THANKS TO BROON FOR THE INSPIRATION
Oh and I got the turtle wax gloss cockpit cleaner as the freebie, does a great job, inside and on the black stuff outside.

That's why I'm still claying the ZS a week after I started.
