Don't know how else to describe it.
Whilst jacking up the rear offside something groans a bit!
Have I read on here somewhere that there are grease nipples on the suspension?

The reason for jacking up? removed the rear wheel and put it in the bath looking for a leak in the tyre - nothing evident, so second question does anyone else loose pressure between the rim and tyre?

You will find the grease nipples on the upper suspension arms. It is VERY important to keep the needle roller bearings in the top arms well greased. You basically clean the nipple (ooh err mrs!) and then pop on a grease gun. Then keep pumping until clean grease oozes from the rubber washers at the ends of the upper arm central shaft. Stops creaking IF it's that that is creaking of course!

The TF only has the 2x front suspension nipples. The F has 4 front and rear.

So going by your username, rear creaking can't be that. Check all rear bushes for wear and the shockers also. Maybe, try spraying each bush in turn with a spray lithium grease until the creaking stops.

Get the wheel / tyre checked by a tyre fitter. Leaks are usually rim or valve, if not an actual puncture.

it can be the the rear top arm that creaks. It uses a very basic fully articulating joint that is packed with grease at the factory, this grease dissipates over time, the joint dries up, and then the top arm creaks. I took one off my TF and the joint was rock solid, no movement at all, after forcing light oil in I eventually got it to move again, I then did my best to inject grease into the joint. I took this a step further, I now have a rear top arm waiting to be fitted that I've added a grease nipple to, hopefully this will extend the bearings life some what.

That sounds the best way to do it, it should last for ever now with a regular greasing. this is exactly like the rear radius arm roller bearings on the Metro which never got greased properley and dried up and seized solid. I once knew a mechanic that used to just dob a bit of grease onto the nipples to meet his targets, so nothing ever got greased.

I have heard of the alloy rims being porus and letting out air, take the wheel to your local tyre fitter and get them to put it in the bath, as David has said it is usually the valve or rim seal. also throughly check the whole of the tread just to see if there is something small that has caused a puncture, pop rivet mandrels are small and can be between tread blocks and difficult to see. :nonod:
