At that price they will probably be remarkably bad.

I think the worst thing about cheap pads is the dusty mess they leave on your wheels.
My wife's car has cheapos and my cars have Greenstuff pads. You would swear her wheels are grey and mine are a nice shiny silver.
It's all about laziness really but she put off washing her car for so long I ended up doing it, so next service her car gets the good pads too!

Do the Greenstuffs make a big difference? I have thought about them for future. I'll also be considering grooved/drilled discs next time. But for now, I'm on a bit of a budget so the cheapies will have to do for this year.

They do stop well. I usually don't get to drive hard enough to see how they are with fade but they literally put out no dust worth talking about and that's good enough for me. They seem to wear a long time too.

Hi Rog, i would not buy those discs!! i think they are too cheap and i have heard of far too many problems with cheap discs and pads. if you are on a budget and the existing discs are ok and not below the minimum thickness, then i would go for just replacing the pads, with quality standard pads. EBC Direct ~ £16.57 www.mg-tr-parts.co.uk £20.40 or Sussex classic car parts £23.40  EBC Greenstuff pads are about £35 to £36 for a rear set, many reports say they are good, with improved braking and "no black dust" they also have a bedding in coating to break the glaze on the discs and bed in quickly. please let us know how you get on. :yesnod:

Thank you for the advice Bryan, very much appreciated. I've had a look at all the other pads on the car now and there is still a reasonable amount of wear left so I will probably do them all just before the MOT in Sept. The discs also look okay so I will definitely go with your advice on pads only. Might be able to push the boat out on Greenstuff by then .... fed up with cleaning the wheels every week.
The tyres, which I have been pushing to their wear limit, have now reached the wear indicators, so they will take immediate priority now. Oh the expense.
Thanks again to all
