You'll need to apply to David in writing with any appeals :) We've all heard the old keyboard excuse many times before

Im afraid that I used a local company to design the web site and we have been trying to get them to resolve the problem. However we have been working on mgf first as a main dealer then as a family concern.Dispite the web issues it has not effected the work we do on customers cars

I work for a rover main dealer,we where allowed 45 minutes to drop the sub frame, with engine and gear box out. together with exhaust system.wheels off, brakes removed from suspension, damper bolts, hoses underside, cables and wiring from topside.rear anti roll bar,4 bolts at front,6 bolts at the rear, then car lifts subframe remains on floor. We have built a frame the cradles the car up and one the cradles the sub frame.so it takes two people one hour,if all the bolts and clips undo as they should,we can and have done an engine swap in a 8 hour day, complete job from car turn off to car turn on.We have worked on over 2000 cars over the years .pocket motors

hi its the owner of pocket motors, the mgf are very basic cars with a very basic subframe layout,it the factory it took around 5 minutes to install.a few bolts and a few hose clips and the whole unit is out.if all the bolts remove easy its an hours job for two people.we have and do an engine replacement in a 8 hour day from car off to car key turn on.we have worked on around 2000 mgfs over the years and its the only car we work on so we know our mgfs,A lot of people spend a few hours a month,we spend 60 hours a week every week working on these cars, pocket motors

It's nice to have you here Daz.
I imported an MGF to Canada from the UK over the winter, and wish I had known about your firm first.
I am gradually rebuilding the car one failed system at a time and I would much rather have had the car reconditioned before it was shipped.
Regardless, I agree. They are great little cars! :)

Cheers, Rich

Hi dazlightyear, i like the alias  We are very pleased that you have joined the forum :woohoo: it is great to have another member with such a wealth of information about these lovely MGs. I was not trying to be "rude" when i said it was very quick to remove an engine and subframe in an hour!!! ~ as well as being a moderator on this forum, i am Area Secretary of Epsom Area MG Owners Club, a member of the MG Car Club, the MGF Register. i have seen your advert in Safety Fast, Enjoying MG and in MG Enthusiast. i also know Simon Goldsworthy the editor of MGE, who, as you probably know is now running a 1996 MGF.
Please feel free to correct us if we get anything wrong, we are a very friendly bunch, even if we do have the spelling police!!!!! ~ Laz was really trying to get a medal

hi,these mgf/tf are very basic cars, metro /rover.people make them complicated .We have been working on these car since they first rolled off the line.we used to be based in egham surrey,20 miles from epsom.I used to work on the older mgs but got feed up with the customers doing long term projects over years while I had there cars in my workshop on free storage. When these mgfs arrived everyone loved them, poorly built, from a company who well say no more.but they didnt have rust and believe me that makes a big differance.Every one hated working on these cars as they are mid engined,I cut my teeth with ferrari so a mgf engine is like a toy.So we simply copied what ferrari do.we built some frames that would cradle the subframe and cradle the car, simular the how the factory put the car together. These days as the cars are getting older its 2 to 3 hours taking the dame things apart. We retro fit power steering, and convert engines to vvc.
Im always happy to help where I can.lots of owners try and find complicated answers to simple problems. The older mgs you could modify v8 engines ,suspension setup etc.these mgf/tf apart from basic upgrades how it was built is how it will remain.

Hi Daz! I hope you stick around to help answer some of the 'awkward' questions,

You'll have to forgive me, as Chief of Spelling police, it's a obsession of mine.

of course i will,to be honest having a public school education behind me spelling is high on my list, but after spending 10 hours in a workshop often emails are done while trying to do something else.Mind you I have given the company who completed my web site the roasting of their lives. They have promised to correct it.Im always happy to help owners where I can.And when someone calls me its always an awkward question, the best ones are when they discribe a noise and Im then expected to tell them what it is.Last one was it makes a noise like a camel.?????
