MGTF Stepspeed probs
Tf developed a fault last week, seems to go straight to 4th and when slowing down hits 1st and the warning light comes on?
Move to neutral and revs drop, light goes out.
No faults on my ODB2 reader?
Taking some advice I changed the fluid and fluid pan filter, old fluid was dark but smelled OK, some swarf on magnet but everything looked clean up inside.
My guess is electrical? Display by stick shows all modes but dash display will not show D or DSport and cannot change gears maually either with stick or paddles.
Strange thing, if key turned to start pos while in D it lights up??? (But wont start obviously)
Any advice greatly appreciated

ECU seems to over heat, then eventually my gearbox refuses to change/kangeroo's and the rev counter dies...
the Stepspeed box is controlled by the ECU, so its possible you could have a faulty sensor, or even dodgy ECU...

One of the female conns on plug side had moved back in the sleeve after I had cleaned it and was replicating the original fault

So I get to keep my back teeth after all
Thanks to all
