Well I've managed to get a new set of carpets for my TF 2002. I have read the tips of CJJ and David for amending the poor fit of the MG carpets.. Anyway as I am compleately replacing them there is anything I should be aware off?? Will I need any new fittings? Under the carpet I'm going to tuck a couple of mats, so I guess they don't need to very thick right David? Thanks and any advice on the removing would be great as I couldn't fin any how to remove the carpet!

Sergi, Who did you buy the carpet from, or who is the manufacture of the carpet kit? I am planning to buy replacement carpets for my F over the winter.

Well I bought it from a guy for 75 quid (Carpet, boot carpet & Engine sound deadening and Back carpet) from a 19000 Miles TF 2004. I know you can get from MGOC spares a kit ror around 200quid. :omg:

Newton Commercial do good quality carpet sets in various colours but as said not cheap.

I picked up a pale blue set at Stoneleigh from the MGF Centre stand at a discount, don't know if they'll repeat it next year.

The NEWTON COMMERCIALS carpets have a good track record and as DAZ has said they are easy to fit ~ good to know that discounts are on the cards.

  Disconnect both terminals + & - on battery and leave for about half an hour before disconnecting the SRS electrics connections under the seats as you need to remove both seats to get the carpet out. I understand that disconnection whilst the battery is on could cause the Air Bag to "fire" :omg: :bust: :omg:

Thanks for the tip! ;)

I didn't know that the carpets from a 2002 car are not the same of a 2004! After a moorning of hassle I have changed the drivers side! I tried to keep the old sound deadening (To make it thicker) but no chance... so I put a car mat underneath like in David how to... just to prevent the problem. I will fit velcro tape as well cause the screws keep falling out! :-?

Will post pics when I finish!
