THE NEW RED VEHICLE REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE (V5C)

Have you received yours yet?? The DVLA are replacing all existing BLUE V5Cs following a theft of a number of blank blue V5Cs. their aim is to reduce the risk to motorists of buying a stolen or cloned vehicle.

Please check your new RED V5C when it is received to ensure it matches exactly the existing Blue one you have, before destroying the old one as instructed.

The timescale for the issue of the new V5s to everyone is November 2012 .

I got new red documents through for our citroen and micra when we moved house, I did wonder what the change was for. The TF's documents finally arrived last week so all our documentation is up to date,

I knew nothing about the changes until i received the new one for my MGB, read the leaflet that was attached and looked at the DVLA website ~ i am urging everyone to check the details on the new "red" one to ensure it matches the old one!! i understand there were many mistakes made last time. I know of someone who was stopped by the police as the PNC check showed the Ford Mondeo he was driving to be "Maroon" and in fact it was Silver!!!!! apparently the mistake was made on first registration :omg: :rant:

We now have 504 members and the majority of you have more than one vehicle :thumbsup: it would be interesting to know when you receive your new RED V5C ~ i have received the one for my MGB, but nothing else and have three other cars MGF, Honda and VW Polo :yesnod:

My wife, son and daughter have all received their red V5s. The kids don't remember when they got their ones :nonod: but the wife got hers last week.

Still no sign of the new V5 for my MGF yet. I can' wait - coz the colour matches the car. The tax disc matches too at the moment so I'm thinking of leaving the new one in the glove compartment for aesthetic reasons :lol:

Thank you and I like the plan for the RED theme!!! bit of a problem though when the tax expires :omg: :bust:

May have to consider a respray :lol:
