Well, Morag passed her 80,000 mile anniversary last weekend, so decided to treat her

Took 3 hours......most of it was getting the manifold to downpipe bolts together lol....its easy when they are splined and attached to the manifold...different when they are free and you have no helpers...(lets just say Blue Peter came in handy and I had some innovative use for double sided sticky tape)

Anyway.......I can honestly say I am impressed, i know there usually a psychological increase in speed etc with these things, but first test drive was awesome. There a DEFINITE improvement in torque form 5-6K in particular, whcih wasn't there before....I don't know whey this would happen, but it has.. Noise is better too, but then I decatted at same time

makes my backbox look really dirty lol

Oh and for the record....the heatshield went back on no probs.

But it smells bad...how long till the smell goes lol

It took about a 100 miles to completely get rid of the smell. And I hated those six bolts by the time I had got them all in and torqued up!

Definitely easier if you had an assistant! :yesnod:

glad it wasnt just me . Seriously though, double sided tape on washer (one side to bolt, other to manifold)..means they dont move so you can get the nuts/washers on from below (also double taped on just one side this time....washer to bolt). I am sure the tape will melt off and probably adds to the smell. Will re-torque tomorrow just to make sure (after Ive warmed up and tested the 5-6-7K theory again ;)...a few times )

forgot to add, I was still getting a negligible coolant leak under long journeys, even after replacing thermostat housing ...Not impressed.

But when in the engine bay today, noticed a coolant leak.......at the return pipe bleed valve.....which was loose!!!!!!!!!!! so basically i had not tightened it properly when bleeding car last month...another homer award for me I think .....

ALWAYS make sure your nipples are tight    :omg:  :yesnod:

Nice looking shiny underneath bits

as for the bleed valve - I am in no position to comment, as I have committed more 'homers' than I can remember

That downpipe looks fantastic Broon!

Talk about homers...Last weekend I installed electric mirrors on my F.
Apparently the mirrors are marked "Right" and "Left" for a reason. :pinch:
Today I swapped them over to the correct sidse and now they work just fine. :yesnod:
