K&N 57i - Sounds Great
Now I've figured out how to use Windows Movie Maker here is a clip from some time ago, prior to fitting the Toyosport exhaust.
For those who have not fitted one this is the sound of the K&N 57i, on my standard 1.8MPi. If you ever wondered what it sounds like hit play below.
The beauty of the K&N is that it only makes a noise when you drive the car hard, otherwise it is almost silent. Must admit there is a sadistic pleasure in watching the shock on peoples faces when you give the unsuspecting a lift and after tootling quietly around you suddenly let your right foot floor it
As they say little boys don't grow up, they just get older :yesnod:

First job I did after buying our 'F' was to fit a K&N 57i, money well spent.
Added Milltek Super Sports exhaust as well - excellent combo. :woohoo:

I am considering the K&N 57i, however I have a Trophy which I am led to believe has an improved air box.
Would I benefit from this mod?
Thanks Adrian from down under.

So the easy improvement is to route the air intake pipes to the side intake to ensure cold air.
An open K & N cone filter will sound better but give worse performance, pulling hot air from the engine bay.
An enclosed K& N with a cold air feed will sound better and give as good if not better performance.
