Thought i would start a new thread about a failed TF engine mounting following Leigh's comment about a possible "loose" engine mounting!!
This was on a 2003 MG TF at around 23,000 miles, there was a "bit of a clonking" for some while (assume first bolt had sheared and was loose and jiggling around) photo shows wear on the mount. Pulling away from traffic lights, there was a large bang and lots of grinding banging and sparks because the engine had dropped. MGOC had never heard of this failure occouring before!!!
Three photos below:-
And perhaps a forth
:omg:  :omg:

Strange, looks like a premature fatigue fracture (endurance failure) (spelling ?) of the left hand bolt which went first.
May be to much torque made already at the factory ? Who knows.
