Go and check your alternator belts
In all the years spent repairing MG's this is without question the worst one for engine damage I have ever seen. People do yourselves a favour and check your alternator belts for £10 and half an hour of your time it will save your engine.

Alternator belt took out the cam belt?
Then somebody threw a stick of gelignite into the engine!
