Often wonder if AYB 600B is still on the road somewhere. I think 'B' would be 1964 which would be a year younger than me.
I checked the DVLA Database and there are no records for that registration number, so I would assume it has not been on the road in a long time.

Posted 12 years 11 months ago #32650And some of you may prefer the human interest subject in this one. What a decade that was
one of the old boys there when a girl offered the opinion that this was nice photo commented that it depended what I was trying to take a picture of. Jealousy is so corrosive.

Posted 12 years 11 months ago #32755I got hooked on sports cars thanks to my Uncle's TR7. He bought a FHC before they launched the convertible but it had the full length fabric sunroof.
My first MG experience was when my aunt won a Maestro in the Heinz car a day competition sold it to my grandparents and got a BGT.
Back with front wheel drive and 181HP at the wheels

BL had to give away the Maestro's with tins of beans because they could not sell them  :omg:

Posted 12 years 11 months ago #32864I guess if I had thought about I would have searched out a spitfire, or as I wanted a car for daily use, I would probably have gone for a BMW Z3.
However having had my MGF for over a year now I don't see it going anywhere in the foreseeable future. It makes me smile every time I drive it and I think a Spitfire after the MGF would just be a disappointment. So I'll leave the Spitfire as an unspoilt happy memory

Posted 12 years 11 months ago #32874Once I got it sorted it was a reliable enough car, and went quite well, but there was no comparison to my MGF.
The 20 years of development between them really showed. The MGF is superior in every way; performance, comfort, looks,
and is much more pleasant to drive.
My MGF puts a smile on my face everytime I drive it as well.
Cheers,
Rich

My brother in law had a couple of Bugeyes and an MGA that he stored at our place and I used to (or so I'm told, I was only about 5 or 6 at the time) spend all my time playing in them. I had to wait another 30 years before I finally bought my 1969 MGB and shortly after that I added my F to the collection.
The pedal car is probably worth a fortune now, i had an Austin one which were actually made by Austin, saw one recently i a collection and they reckon it is worth £10K ~ there is a guy in Rye , Sussex who collects pedal cars and has just opened a museum.
The MGB looks a nice car too
